Hey everyone!
I just wanted to share a bit of my story for anyone out there wondering if getting a degree is still worth it.
I finished school while being married and raising a child. It wasn’t glamorous—far from it. There were long nights, early mornings, and more than a few moments where I questioned if I could really pull it off. On top of that, paying for school was a serious financial strain. Every semester felt like a gamble—on myself.
But I kept going.
And now, I’m on the other side. I’m actively looking for jobs in my field, and for the first time, I don’t have to rely on physically demanding work like most of my friends still do. That alone makes every sacrifice feel worth it.
If you’re in the thick of it—juggling family, bills, and coursework—just know that it does pay off. It’s not just about the degree. It’s about proving to yourself that you can do hard things. That you can build a better future, even when the odds aren’t in your favor.
Keep going. You’re not alone.

Learning a trade might be a lot more beneficial these days than getting any BA degree. It is much harder to land a job after college.

Learning a trade next year will continue to be more financially beneficial and job-secure than earning a general BA degree—especially in fields hit hard by automation, rising tuition, and underemployment. Skilled trades like electrical work, HVAC, and solar installation offer faster entry, lower cost, and strong demand across the U.S. job market
